GREETINGS from the Nebraska City V.F.D. Muster Committee!

It is only a year away from the biggest Muster of antique fire equipment to ever take place in the Heartland of America. Things are starting to fall in place. Events are lining up and activities are being organized. To update you as to what has taken place, I will attempt to brief you on the highlights. Details will follow in a newsletter next January or February.

Friday Evening - A get acquainted Nebraska Barbeque featuring Nebraska Beef for all those preregistered and bringing antique equipment for display. This is by invitation only.

Saturday Morning - Two Hour plus parade of antique fire equipment, modern fire equipment, bands, etc.

Saturday Afternoon - National Class C Hand Pump Competition, National Hand Hose Reel Race Competition - Static Display of Antique and Modern Fire Equipment - Firematic Flea Market - Demonstrations

Saturday Evening - Public Barbeque and Awards presentation from the afternoon competition.

All of the Saturday afternoon activities will take place at the Nebraska City High School located at Steinhart Park Road and West Central Ave. Barbeque locations are still heing determined and will be announced in the next newsletter.

As of this date we have fifty-four hand or horse drawn antiques and forty-six pre-1950 motorized antiques registered. States registered are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, lowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada.

With this Newsletter you will find a listing of motels and campgrounds in the Nebraska City area. It is suggested that you make your motel reservations made as possible due to the limited number of motels within an hour of Nebraska City. Omaha and Lincoln are each an easy one hour drive.

Those flying in are asked to contact AAA Travel Agency of Nebraska at 800-666-8798 as they will be making air arrangements, including special rates, for the Muster. None of the airlines will book flights this far in advance. More details will be included in the winter newsletter.

A reminder, if you haven't sent in your registration coupon you may not receive any additional information. We need to know how many people are planning on attending so we will know how to plan for the muster. This is the first time anything of this size has been attempted and we need your help to make it a success. Mail your coupon in if you haven't and if you know of anyone planning on attending, make sure they have sent in theirs. There is one included with this newsletter.

We're looking forward to meeting each of you.
